Synkroniciti is excited to welcome back Louisianan writer Stacie Eirich with “Nova,” a short story about a special teen who communicates with the stars through singing. This strange and wondrous power presents Nova with a choice. “As a daughter of the stars, I could choose to embrace my powers, becoming a sister of light in the sky. Or, I could stay upon Earth, with my human family and friends.” There is a recurring theme in “Space” of wanting to join the stars, of becoming a creature of light, no longer bound to Earth’s gravity. Stacie paints this beautifully, the hint of something which outlives mortality, call it soul, spirit, Consciousness, energy…, illuminating the desire to soar above our troubles and take in the vastness of Creation. She teaches us that myth still has a place in modern life, tugging at the synchronicities that sing all around us, if we can slow down and disengage from our omnipresent technology and regain some of our lost innocence.
Experience Nova in Synkroniciti’s November 30th issue, “Space,” Vol. 5, No. 4, available for purchase here: https://synkroniciti.com/the-magazine/purchase-individual-issues/.
